The Limerick Society was founded in 1990 after an official mayoral proclamation by then mayor Vicki McNeill between the city of Spokane and Limerick, Ireland. Mayor McNeill's work in promoting good relations with Limerick, Ireland helped to foster the creation of the Limerick Sister Cities Society.

Spokane's irish as well as non-irish have continued the proud traditions of promoting friendly and collaborative relations among the proud citizens of Spokane and the Inland Empire.

Today the Limerick Society averages a membership of 120 members along with the current board of administrators. We look forward to your interest and participation in Spokane's own irish fraternal organization.
